Genetics aren't making you out of shape.
I'll probably get downvoted by angry people but wtv. We were having a class debate today (i'm not from the us and we do these here sometimes) and it was on various topics but at this moment we were focused on body image and stuff. There's this girl that was talking and she mentioned how not all bodies are the same (which is true) and that some people aren't built to be in shape because of fast and slow metabolisms. Now if there's something i know a lot of is fitness. So first of all, That "fast" and "slow" metabolism stuff is bullshit. Not all bodies burn calories at the exact same rate at the same weight and height but it is not that big of a difference and it is widely considered pseudoscience. This girl, let's say probably weighed more than me. do you know what this means? her basal metabolic rate is higher than mine. Which means she burnes more calories than i do while not doing anything. If she goes for a run, she burns more calories than i do. So guess what? this also means you eat more calories than i do. it really just boils down to math. it is not magic. "genetics" aren't forcing you to eat more than i do. it isn't healthy to spread this misinformation.
