MEGATHREAD: Summer Shimmer Event, June 10-13
With thanks to all who have contributed to this guide!
This event will run from Tuesday, June 10 until 19:00 GMT on Friday, June 13; to participate you will need version 12.5.2 or later (12.6 if using Amazon devices), at least 100 dragon power, and a high quality, stable internet connection.
Please keep event-specific questions and discussions (and ALL ACT 2 INFO) in this thread; good luck and happy merging!
#ANNOUNCEMENTS
Event Notes (Act 1)
- This event was introduced last year as a new variation on the Summer Delight theme’s items using the Frozen Seas map, with the occasional twist that may or may not have been related to A/B testing, which may or may not still be in play.
- This and the coming weekend events are your best chance to get Cool Dragons (an Arcadia breed), since this theme is usually held only once per year.
- It is possible to get the fast dragon first.
- No Infinite Harvestables are used as keys, and it is safe to delete low-level IH if needed.
- A spare Lost Bud is located near the Gaia Statue lock.
- The Gold Capsule may or may not have been switched for a Silver one (needs confirming — please share in the comments).
- If anyone wants to contribute screenshots of lock areas immediately after they’ve been opened, please share the images in the comments — they’ll be edited into this guide as soon as possible.
Act 2 Beta Test Notes
- NOTE: Please keep discussion and images for the Act 2 beta here in the megathread.
- The Act 2 beta is a test run for an expanded version of standard Out-of-Camp events; it allows players to replay the current event at a higher difficulty level for extra rewards as soon as they finish the original version (aka Act 1). This beta test is only out to a limited number of randomly chosen players at this time; non-testers will have a ‘normal’ OoC event.
- Act 2 can begin as soon as you earn the last points reward in Act 1, but you can keep playing in Act 1 if you choose to do so; if there is no option to exit the Act 2 opening screen, hard closing the game and re-opening should bring up the proper display where you can continue in Act 1 with an option to move to Act 2 near the top of the screen.
- NOTE: There is no penalty for refusing to play Act 2 if you would prefer not to participate in this beta test.
- Basic Info:
- Gold Pass: >!The Act 1 Gold Pass does not carry over to Act 2, which has its own, separate Gold Pass available for purchase at the same price as in Act 1; you can buy one, both, or neither.!<
- Versions: >!Test players may see different energy requirements for healing land, and possibly different point requirements; for now, this seems more to do with A/B testing than dragon power or other player stats. There is no known way to change the version you are given.!<
- Event Quests: >!Event Quests reset to the beginning for Act 2, and are much more difficult to complete; remaining in Act 1 long enough to finish the Event Quests there is the easiest option.!<
- Maps: >!The maps have been basically the same as Act 1; only the earliest keys are different, and the grasses and other map clutter in the early low-energy areas being replaced by life flowers/orbs. Link to Act 2 map!<
- Points: >!Most testers have reported needing 2x level 9 point items, but some needed 1x level 10 point item to finish.!<
- Healing: >!Healing energy requirements are HIGHLY variable, ranging from not much more than the normal 6-7 L9 life orbs, to needing 20+ to clear all land.!<
- Booster Chests: >!Opening Event Chests, Capsules, and Dimension Jars and purchasing items from the store in Act 1 yield points that earn bonus items that will be delivered in a chest at the start of Act 2; Bronze Capsules are worth 12 points each, level 2 event chests are 6p, and dim jars are 20p.!<
- Strategy: >!The basic OoC strategies all seem to work; it just takes much longer. So far, the ‘easiest’ option seems to be clearing out the low-energy tile area at the start using a high-level life orb from the Booster Chest, then switching to idle harvesting of level 3+ infinite harvestables. Players with relatively low healing requirements may finish faster by focusing on life orbs rather than point items; unfortunately, testers with the highest energy requirements may not be able to heal the full map in this way, even when playing actively. Healing Goddesses may not have much effect… jury’s still out on that.!<
- Glitches: Some players are reporting difficulty in opening some Act 2 reward loot orbs; if this happens, and you have PLENTY of open areas in your camp (an empty area of 5x10 or larger) please file a ticket with Game Support.
- More information and discussion about the Act 2 beta (including playing strategies) can be found in these recent megathreads:
Elsewhere in the Game
- News and Updates:
- NOTICE: Programmers are asking players who encounter new or persistent glitches (including mussing Races or Shiny Days) to please send in a ticket via Game Support; some of these problems are proving very hard to track down, and having more accounts to compare helps a lot, especially for the things that are happening intermittently or are only affecting small numbers of players.
- GLITCH: Graphics glitches are causing a gap where the Bingo icon would normally be, and a red notification mark to one side of the OoC event icon — a patch is expected soon, possibly in v12.7.
- GLITCH: Some players are seeing the old, pre-card collection Reward Screens; so far, it seems the proper set of rewards (including card packs) is being distributed despite what the graphic display says.
- A/B TEST: The devs recently made another re-adjustment in the long-running A/B test for ad-based access to dimension jars, OoC event capsules, and other elements; this happens every 2-3 months and there appears to be no predicting who will gain or lose access with any given shift.
- The Discovery Book beta is continuing to expand to more users; the devs are welcoming feedback via Game Support tickets. Link 1, Link 2
- Next OoC Event: Father’s Bounty Event, 13-16 June
- Next Races: Mushrooms on Tuesday, Dragon Trees on Sunday

- MD Web Store - A free, event-related trophy breed egg can be claimed soon after the start of a weekend event.
Other Events:
- Elemental Event: A new type of 3-day even currently in the beta testing phase and only available to a small number of players; has been held Tuesday to Friday so far.
- There is no EE being held this week, as programmers are still adjusting things based on feedback from the initial tests.
- Bunny Bingo: Held with all weekend OoCs; the single mid-week test edition held over Easter week has never been repeated. Reward and difficulty tiers are determined by a player’s dragon power. Each edition must be triggered to open by visiting camp; a device reboot may be needed if it does not appear on its own.
- NOTE: A common high-level Bingo task requires merging the secondary trophy dragon breed up to its Tier 2 form; in this weekend’s event, the required dragon is called the Rad, which is the Tier 2 form of the Cool dragon.
- Races: Sunday/Tuesday, in a repeating Rock-Mushroom-Dragon Tree-Flower pattern; point requirements determined by a player’s dragon power. GG Link
- Shiny Days: Monday/Wednesday - point requirements and prizes varyby a player’s dragon power level. Wiki Link
- Mystic Challenge: Thursday/Sunday — Each player’s set of levels are randomly chosen from a common pool; Challenge levels seem to be featured quite often. Data on levels continues to be collected for the wiki on this thread. Wiki Link 1, Wiki Link 2, GG Link
- Note: Some players are seeing a different set of dragon breeds in their rewards as part of an A/B test.
- Kingdoms: Weekdays - This feature is back from its recent semi-hiatus, but little has changed; players still slowly earn chests to merge things to unlock new areas to merge things, eventually earning reward dragons in a similar manner to the Dragon Home or Arcadia.
- Card Collection: Runs in an 8-week cycle, and pretty closely follows the standard card collecting pattern of ~90% easy-to-get, ~8% hard-to-find, and ~2% nearly-impossible-without-purchase. WARNING: Joker cards must be used as soon as collected; this is an issue with the Season Royal Pass in particular. GG link
- Spin-the-Wheel: A reworked version is out now to a new round of beta testing, but little has changed with the basic gambling format; be advised everybody gets a guaranteed big “win” at the start to get you feeling “lucky”.

#EVENT FAQs
- The Event Shop appears after healing ~20 tiles, and the Capsule store at ~70 tiles; after that a free Bronze Capsule can be collected every 3 hours.
- It takes 5 to 6 level 9 Life Orb of the Heavens to clear all the 5k+ land, depending on how much you heal by merging items off dead land or by using heal-extenders.
- To collect both the full set of Points Prizes and any level of Rush Rewards, you will need to earn 29,950 points.
- Reaching this amount requires 1x Level 9 points item, 1x L8 item, 2x L7 items, and 2x L6 items (or just aim for 2x L9 points items).
- There’s usually enough material to merge by 3s when making Key items.
- The Gold (or possibly Silver) Capsule, Fallen Star and Tanzanite Nest are hiding near the far edge of the map, on tiles requiring 50k energy to heal, respectively.
- Caves must be tapped to spawn an Event Zomblin; only one Zomblin lives in each cave, and if the cave is destroyed before being tapped it will not spawn anything useful. When an Event Zomblin is killed, it spawns Stinky Cheese that can be harvested to start the Spirit Lantern chain, which feeds into the Spirit Rose chain, which produces the Dark Rose and Spectral Rose Bush.
- Infinite Harvestables:
- There are usually 9x Level 1, 3x L2, 1x L3, 2x L4, and 2x L5 Summer Shops Infinite Harvestables on the map; you can delete one level 1 and one level 2 and still have enough to make a level 6, as long as you 5-merge whenever possible.
- NOTE: No Infinite Harvestables are used as keys, and it is safe to delete low-level IH if needed.
- Consumable/Limited Harvestables:
- Each 1x2 Posh Summer Bag can be harvested 25 times; 75 total harvests are needed to complete Quest 1.3.
- Each harvest of the big 2x2 Summer Tent at the back of the map yields a 10% chance of spawning an extra Posh Summer Bag.
- Once all available Posh Summer Bags and the Summer Tent are gone, there is no way to get more.
- Strategy Advice:
- Spending money or gems is NEVER required to complete an event, nor is using an auto-clicker or other exploits — not even for the Rush Rewards.
- The number and level of possible reward items is determined by your Event Portal level; working to raise that to its maximum of L16 is one of the best ways to boost your overall progress in the game
- A good basic introduction to events is available here on the Fandom Wiki; there’s also some Wiki event guides and tips articles here and here, and a whole collection of general guides and tutorials here
- Additional general event strategy advice (active vs passive or idle play, etc) can be found in the Community FAQ and in these threads: Link 1, Link 2, Link 3, and Link 4.
- For active players wanting more dragons, the Prism Flower method is a good option: Link 1, Link 2, Link 3. Note: this technique is only for active play; since only 2 dragons at a time will harvest when left on their own, having more will actually slow down idle harvesting.
- A strategy using the Hills chain here can greatly increase Life Flower production, but it usually takes a few gems (maximum of 80, but less if you get some in capsules).

#SAVING YOUR PROGRESS
- Make sure to save your progress by traveling to the World Map screen (and waiting there until everything’s fully loaded) regularly, and especially before closing your game.
- Exiting directly from the event level to your Camp can trigger a crash and loss of items; always exit to the World Map screen first, and again after releasing prize items into your camp, as well as after merging high-level or valuable dragons/items.
#EVENT TROUBLESHOOTING
If the event is not showing up correctly or if glitches are affecting your play:
- Check that you meet the version and dragon power requirements.
- Try hard-closing and then relaunching your game.
- Try rebooting your device (ie, turn it completely off, then back on and allow it to fully boot up before relaunching the game). If you are on wifi and have access to the router, try rebooting that, too.
- Try switching to a completely different internet source.
- Try clearing your game’s cache (google for instructions for your specific phone type).
- If you’re suddenly experiencing multiple issues like lagging or error messages (or if the event vanishes completely), close the game and try again after 2-3 hours. Events are internet-based, and sometimes issues with the servers can cause temporary problems — all we can do for that is to wait it out.
- If none of the above helps, contact Gram Games Support through the in-game link or the Support Web Portal for help figuring out what’s wrong (you’ll need your game ID and version number, both of which can be found on the Settings tab and one of the early loading screens).
New warnings are added at the end of list
- NOTE: Cloud Save is still unreliable according to the developer, it is not safe to be used and should be left turned off.
- Glitch: Missing sell/delete option If your task bar is missing the option to delete dimension jars or other items, you can start with the standard troubleshooting methods; if those don’t trigger a fix, replaying a few levels or working in your camp for a while have reportedly helped.
- Glitch: Event level only shows clouds If your event screen shows only clouds instead of the map, check that you are zoomed all the way out. If you are and it still won’t show, try collecting one of the free Bronze Capsules (you may need to wait for the timer to count down).
- Glitch: Points not displaying/counting properly Closing the game while inside the event will cause the event points to display incorrectly upon re-entry; exiting to the world map usually fixes this, but occasionally a full reboot — after closing from the world map screen — is required.
