Benefiting from others sins
Hello,
This is an up for interpretation question about judgement that I know man cannot answer surely. But I would like to know if there’s any scripture on this that points to answer.
I heard a father say recently “I would go to Hell for my children”. This could mean stealing for their children, getting ahead at work through unfair business practices, killing people, etc. The gist is that he would do sinful acts in the interest of his children.
This also made me think of the lives of civilians in many countries, and I’ll take me for an example. The great quality of life I have in America is due to hard work, but relies on people who were willing to commit sins and eternity in Hell. Think for example many troops in World War 2. Men murdered other men, bombed cities, executed prisoners, committed horrific acts of violence to both guilty and non-guilty, etc. so that America and our Ally states could keep standing and to prevent their own people from living in oppression under a foreign power. (Let it be known, I’m a student of history and understand that these acts are what it takes to defend empires. I do not judge men that gave their lives in violent acts for the defense of others).
My point of all this, is that many, if not all of us, live great lives because of sinners. Should we feel guilty of this? Is there scripture that references this? I appreciate all answers.
