And I’m out…

I found a great price a month ago on a “wanna getaway + fair” so I went ahead and booked it for an upcoming vacation. Then my posts from this sub became more prolific and horrifying.

Customer service has been getting worse, and the new fares and add-ons go against every reason to fly SW. As I’ve been reading more and more posts, I’ve been getting worried about my flight in two months. I’m very afraid it’s only going to get worse. We’ve all encountered the seat savers, and the hoard of people who try and pre-board. I’m tired of it. It’s exhausting to deal with.

I’ve been flying all of my life, since I was a baby. I grew up flying on employee passes. This means I am always respectful to FAs. I keep my head down. I try and sleep. I don’t drink when I fly (mostly because of the bathrooms). I truly believe that the FA’s are so indifferent because people have just gotten so entitled and rude. Not everyone but a lot of them.

So, with that in mind, I upgraded my flight to a refundable fair and then canceled it. I received a full refund, including the early bird boarding add-on. I’m booking on another airline and I don’t see myself coming back to Southwest anytime soon.

I think after this next vacation in the skies, I’ll be doing a lot more driving.
