Will of a husband

Is it okay for a husband to say if i had to write a will now i will give my 60% to you while 40% to my parents? We dont have kids atm, but wouldnt a man inherit all his belongings or property to his wife and kids?( once they come in this world) because at the same time if it was his father he would definitely give everything to his wife and kids without a second thought. Idk this didnt really sound appropriate to me.
