This is lowest among the countries in literal civil wars and we all know how much women generally suffer in civil wars with humongous rape and sexual violence and our country is lower than these countries. Just imagine for a moment.

How on earth educated men of our country know this and have the gall to say that feminism is not needed. You cannot expect anything less from the illeterate and uneducated ones but how.......... it is unfathomable at this point.

The extremists I can understand, the radicals I know for sure, the graduates who studied for the sole purpose to get a job is not even a question but the ones with real, proper education. Aware of the problems faced by their mothers, sisters and later on wives and daughters are the real enigma for me. They know the women related to them will be harrased and to some extent assualted in one way or another in public places. They know their colleagues being payed less and treated second to them, they witness the constant pain and suffering caused by their own colleagues, friends, heck eventheir fathers and brothers and still don't speak up is baffling.

When and how this mindset will change? And the rise of TLP like radicals is even more dangerous. I have witnessed first hand, the mindset of their followers regarding women is despicable. Women and animals are similar creatures for them, both breath, eat, produce babies and that's it. Actually treating women with respects is bigger sin than say a literal murder by the way. They are on the rise even faster than PTI in Punjab.

Other provinces has their own grievances in the matter of women. Its not just concerning at this point, it is a literal war against the existance of women at this.

My uni-fellow once told during a class discussion that her neighbor was screaming at top of her lungs like someone was slaughtering her and her family was "hesitant" to even go their door and you know talk to the monstrous husband and she insisted again and again and pleaded to her brother, he knocked on the door, the women being beaten relentlessly came to the door and told my classfellow's brother that it is nnot concerning and she is used to it and even apologised for disturbing them. The girl who told the story was traumatised to the max but it seems like a very normal story from next door which just made all of us so fucking helpless.

There are countless examples, the next door neighbours, an honour killing from next village, the constant abuse of girl childs for being born, the rape cases so horrific that you can't breath properly after listening the details, slapping women in public places is becoming so common too. And the social media has brought us the worst of cases and even recordings of the crimes like that one killing of a young girl recorded on camera by her own sister being strangled by her own brother while his father offered him water. It was later revealed that she was raped by the same brother before she was murdered by him. Like what if it wasn't recorded? She will be another nameless victim and that't it.

Another classfellow told me she suspected that her neighbor was murdered because of marriage issue. She told me that her mother said she died a natural death but there was so much blood where she was lying and after sometime it started running on the floor and they put some utensils under her to stop it from flowing. Nobody reported them and even if someone had, nothing will come out of it. There are millions of nameless women being killed every year across the world and Pakistan have fair share of it. The causes may differ across the globe but he causes in this country do not come closer to what a rational mind can actualy grasp.

These causes ranged from, refusing to marry cousins and arranged weddings, having an opinion about one's own life, dowry, giving birth to another girl, being loved by one's own husband, refusing the advances for potential relationship, asking for inheritance, having an inheritance, and raped and molested by the family member. These are just the most common ones in our society. Just imagine the rot.

The only change I can personally make is to help raising my own brother with better morals. Educate my own parents on dowry. Refuse to bismirch the name of a women on the behest of those around me. And all these small things are only possible if I am at the liberty to do so (which I am) and that's the crux of it. Men on the other hand can do much better.

Be better human by themselves

Educate the next gen of men(brothers, cousins, and eventually sons)

Try to take thier cases up with the previous gen of men(even some don;t listent, a few will)

Refusing dowry no matter what

Refusing to befriend any person or relative who talk down about women in general

Standing up in their own capacity for the women around them especially sisters who do not have same liberties as them

Helping women in need instead of being bystanders and enjoying their helplessness with a crowd

Try empathy and you will see the change not in your own gender but probably in the women who hate other women in the form of daughter in law, sister in law etc.
