There is no “Sexy Game Revolution.” Stellar Blade did well, but that’s all.
Even if Stellar Blade hits 250K+ players on Steam, we need to be real about what that actually means:
- It’s a good action game.
- It has global reach thanks to a good PC port.
- It scratches the itch for fans of Nier Automata, DMC, and Bayonetta.
That’s it.
No “mass rejection of woke.”
No “return to sexy gaming.”
No industry pivot to jiggle physics
Despite the grift crowd trying to spin it, there’s no cultural moment happening. Most players bought it because the game is fun and runs well — not because the main character has a visible spine through her bodysuit.
We’re not suddenly going to see a wave of “booba-core” AAA games. Studios are still going to prioritize mass-market appeal, monetization, and safe storytelling. The people hoping for a “victory” over modern character design got absolutely nothing out of this.
What this really proves:
- People still like well-made character action games.
- Denuvo didn’t stop people from playing.
- Region-locking on PSN did more damage to trust than anything else.
- “Sex appeal” is just an aesthetic, not a revolution.
So no, there’s no “turning point” here.
Just a decent game doing decent numbers.
And that’s fine.
