Used inlaw as realtor for $1.2 million deal. Gave me a food basket as thank you
So my inlaw sold our house and represented us in purchase of new one. Unrelated to question but the whole ordeal was very disappointing.messed up contracts, too busy golfing to show us houses, told us to wait for open houses, ect. My inlaws are in their 70's, pension, 401k, retirement and social security. We live off of one income. I may as well add that my spouse is the only child of theirs that speaks to them. So my kids are their only grandkids. Their other grown children went no contact almost 10 years ago. I personally have been using the gray rock method for 4 years. So my question is... would you expect a gift basket as a thank you? The total deal was 1.2 million. Previously 5 years prior, did they represented us in a 500k deal. I am still really turned off by this. My spouse is set to inherit their entire estate, and this is always dangled like a carrot. They could live to be 90 and have no money left. Ok. That is another post.
