Can I read and sync kobo books between kobo be and iPhone?

I have a Kobo bw and an iPhone and i just downloaded the kobo app on my phone, hoping i can sync between the e reader and the phone. I tried to log in, but i keep getting the message ”this service is not available for the moment, please try again later”.

Is the kobo app not working on the iPhone or am i doing something wrong? Thanks!
