I got rejected from USC and waitlisted at BU in my senior year, and I mainly think it was because I did not hold many leadership positions in high school, I applied with a predicted IB score of 38 (above average but not exceptional), and essays were basic (talking about finding my voice) reading it now.
I’m currently debating on USC and NEU as the former may help me for grad/law school prep while the latter would give me work experience. I’m still waiting on my financial aid from both schools, which will also be a huge factor in my decision.
