Has anyone tried a walk up Golden Hour Portraits photo shoot?
I am a complete amateur photographer, and only shoot 35mm film. I want to practice shooting portraits but my wife is tired of me pointing the camera at her all the time. I had an idea of going to a local park, scouting out a good spot with decent lighting and through traffic and seeing if people would want to do an impromptu photoshoot.
Equipment I have
- Canon T70 (loaded with Kodak Gold 200 Color Film)
- Vitivar flash (1/90 sync speed)
- 35-70mm F2.8 to F4
- 70-200 F3.5
- Minolta XG-M (loaded with Kentmere 400 - BW Film)
- 28mm F2.8 (unlikely to use)
- 50mm F2
- 135mm F3.5
- Sirui Tripod
Marketing:
- A poster stating: Walk Up Film Portraits at Golden Hour - Tips appreciated*
- *Photos will be delivered by end of weekend, will require development, scanning, editing*
- I'll bring my dog and leash her nearby since that often gets people to want to talk to me regardless
Discussion points:
- Making sure I'm allowed to do this
- Tips or set a price per photo - I self develop and scan and edit so the only material cost is the film (10 dollars a roll for color, 5 ish for BW due to bulk rolling)
- Is this a terrible idea?
