Blurry vision right eye only
Variable blurry vision in my eight eye for a few weeks. I have (very) dry eyes starting suddenly 1.5 years ago, punctum plugs and a few different drops for them, but this feels different than a dry eye attack. I did see an optician the other day who said there was a mild difference in acuity and normal eye pressure in both. I have an appointment at an optometrist in July, but I am a little anxious and wondering if I should be seen sooner?
Symptoms: Blurry vision in my right eye only, varies from slightly to very blurry. Blurriness levels last long periods and do not vary from blink to blink like dry eye blurriness does. It feels like I just can't completely focus no matter how hard I try or how close or far away what I am looking at is. Vision has occasionally been as sharp as the left again for half an hour or so and then I get excited, but has so far always goes back to blurry again. I've been having frequent aches in the eye especially if I blink hard, and sometimes a little nausea and headaches from (I suspect) the difference between eyes. Weirdly if I look only with my right eye the world feels a little further away and a bit surreal. I can tell that it's not further away or surreal when I check against my left eye, or look with both. Super weird, am guessing from the strain of trying to focus? Left eye completely normal for me, just dry.
Female, 44, 174cm, 90kg, non-smoker, very light drinker.
Diagnosed: psoriasis, rosacea, dry eye disease (both eyes), salzmann's nodular degeneration (left eye, from dry eye), osteoarthritis, chronic pain, sciatic nerve damage+muscle atrophy from previously herniated disc, icepick headaches (left side only), adenomyosis+possible endometriosis (controlled), anemia (controlled), chronic insomnia.
Meds: Zoely birth control, tirzepatide since 3 months (paused for a couple weeks because of this and worsened insomnia, but back on now), cetirizine (to reduce rash from tirzepatide), topical steroids (psoriasis) years, protopic (psoriasis) years, metronidazole (rosacea) started several weeks ago, ciclosporine drops starting several weeks ago (for the dry eye - but stopped because of uncertainty about this symptom, and a stye starting a week ago), melatonin (insomnia) years. Methylene blue recently at 5-10mg to combat brain fog, helps a bit.
Should I try to be seen sooner than July or is it ok to wait, or is this psychological because of the oddness with perception? Or just bad eye strain (in just one eye though)? Thank you for reading.
