When should I start taking my meds

Medication 💊

Throwaway Acc. Repost because my original post was removed since I mentioned what meds Im being put on. Sorry to the mods!

Today I finally had an appointment with a psychiatrist, which was an ordeal to get and Im relieved that I finally have someone to turn to.

However as Ive read through the patient information paper, I’ve noticed that I would have to stop driving. Im currently taking lessons to get my license, and I live in a country in which it is really expensive due to bureaucracy/economics. Im scared that I will not be able to drive and everything Ive done so far (~2.1k in costs so far) will expire. I cant tell my parents because they aren’t even informed about my diagnosis.

Should I wait till I have my license? How long till I am allowed to drive again? They say its because of the reaction time. I know I should start the meds immediately, but somehow this is really really stressing me out. Maybe its irrational, idk.

Please just tell me what I should do or anything helpful. Im young, live alone and have no real support system here. Im really scared and stressed right now. I cant reach my doctor and the next appointment is in 2 weeks at the earliest.
