Erasing Palestinians
The attempt to erase Palestinian identity by some people by claiming they are not "real" or "indigenous" is not only a political tactic (in my opinion) ; it's a denial of a history that is carved into the very stones of the land and flows in the blood of its people!!. The Palestinian story isn't a recent invention; it is the modern chapter of a continuous story stretching back millennia.
the people persisted—evolving culturally and linguistically and religiously
Multiple countries go through this like
england turkey Egypt Iraq Spain rome Italy Persia and Palestine etc, you can't just ignore this, this should be enough for any denier but I guess Zionism doesn't use intelligent. In fact if you think a little bit more you'll realize that all countries all of them have changed throughout history since humanity is at least 200,000 years, one example would be how Mesopotamia ruled the world including Palestine and multiple other instances where specific groups had effect on the land of Palestine, jews themselves did change they weren't always there!
#The land's history precedes any group, and any specific identity of 'Jew.' If the pre-Jewish people changed their identity and became 'Jews,' and this change didn't nullify their claim to the land why does the change of the Palestinian people nullify their ownership of the Land??? If displacement is okay with enough power then by this argument, the Romans with their significant and enduring presence in the land, have acquired a similar right to dispossess?
Jews connection to a place can persist through centuries of foreign rule, military defeat, identity shifts, and even significant dispersal. But this becomes false when we start talking about the Palestinians?? This highlights the profound inconsistency. If the land is older than the Jewish identity, and identities can evolve, why does one evolving identity grant a claim while another—the Palestinian identity—is dismissed? This isn't just a logical flaw; it's a blatant double standard that denies justice!
They were in the land even before the 7th-century and the zionists weren't, they have always been in this land not like others who came from Europe, they are Indigenous by birth.
what proves that Palestinians are indigenous is lineage and DNA and archaeological, genetic, historical, linguistic, and cultural evidence, you don't get to decide what's real and what's not.
I can change my language I can change my religion I can change my practices I won't have less ownership of my land! That's just ridiculous and some people keep doing straw man fallacy by ignoring this fact
The ownership of the Land goes to who to the Palestinian who had their homes in the land stolen, the fact that you needed to steal then is enough
Here is the evidence for the deniers:
- The Undeniable Physical & Cultural Presence: A Living History Before we even touch on genetics or ancient texts, let's look at the undeniable, living connection. You cannot erase what is present!!
The Ancient Landscape: Anyone who has seen the terraced hillsides of Palestine is looking at an agricultural technique that is thousands of years old. The olive trees in places like Al-Walaja and the Bethlehem district, SOME OF WHICH ARE SCIENTIFICALLY DATED TO BE OVER 3,000-4,000 YEARS OLD, were not planted in a vacuum. They were planted and harvested by the ancestors of the Palestinians who live there today. This is not a metaphor; it is a biological and historical fact.
The World's Oldest Cities: Jericho, or Tell es-Sultan, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on Earth, with settlements dating back to 9000 BCE. The people who live in and around Jericho today are the inheritors of that continuous human presence. They didn't just appear out of nowhere NOTHING APPEARS OUT OF NOWHERE. especially not Palestinians
A Culture Born from the Land: Palestinian culture is not an import. It is a product of this specific land. Cuisine: Dishes like musakhan, maqluba, and the use of za'atar, Nabulsi cheese, and Jenin's watermelons are hyper-local, developed over centuries using the produce of the Palestinian soil. This is the definition of indigenous cuisine.
Art: The intricate patterns of Palestinian embroidery (tatreez) are a form of identification, with different designs signifying different villages—a practice passed down through countless generations of mothers and daughters. This is a cultural GPS that maps a family's roots directly onto the land.
- The Historical and Linguistic Record: A Story of Evolution, Not Replacement
The central lie used to deny Palestinian identity is the idea that when language and religion changed, the entire population was replaced. History shows this is false. The people remained and evolved, just as people do everywhere.
From Aramaic to Arabic: Before the 7th century, the primary languages in Palestine were Aramaic (the language of Jesus) and Greek. When the Arab conquests occurred, the change to Arabic was not a population swap. It was a gradual process of where the local people—Christians, Samaritans, and remaining Jews—adopted the language and, for many, the religion of the new ruling culture over centuries. This is a well-documented historical process, not a theory. The Palestinian Arabic dialect itself contains clear linguistic traces of Aramaic which is proven by linguistic experts, a testament to this transition.
The Unbroken Christian Link: Palestinian Christians are not a separate group; they are a core part of the Palestinian people and living proof of this continuity. Churches like the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem (commissioned in 327 AD) have served the same local community for over 1,700 years. These Christians did not "become" Palestinian in the 20th century; their ancestors were the original Christians of the Holy Land, who later became Arabic-speaking. They are the bridge that disproves the entire "population replacement" myth. Their existence is a proof for every denier and they get bombed every day, one of the oldest churches in the world!
- The Scientific Confirmation: Genetic Continuity While history, culture, and archaeology are more than enough proof, modern science has put the final nail in the coffin of the denialist argument.
Identity isn't something that is decided by just you guys, you aren't living alone in this world identity is a very complicated topic and you can't just ignore the DNA evidence because it's proof that they were there since forever, ignoring this fact wouldn't do any help but will only prove that the intentions are only to dismiss the indigenous people for political and Personal selfishness.
Genetic Studies: Multiple peer-reviewed genetic studies have confirmed that modern Palestinians share a significant amount of their ancestry with the ancient peoples of the Levant. A landmark 2020 study in the journal Cell by Haber et al., "A Genomic History of the Bronze Age Southern Levant," concluded that modern Levantines, including Palestinians, derive a large part of their ancestry from Bronze Age Canaanites. The study states, "The present-day genetic landscape of the Levant is heavily influenced by the Canaanite-related ancestry." Shared Ancestry: These same studies show that modern Palestinians, Ashkenazi Jews, Sephardic Jews, and other Levantine populations all share a common ancestral root in the ancient Middle East. The attempt to use genetics to exclude Palestinians from the land backfires spectacularly: it proves they are just as deeply rooted there as anyone. Addressing the Double Standard This brings us to the core intellectual dishonesty of the arguments against Palestinian identity.
If a people's evolution—changing their primary religion from ancient Canaanite faith to Judaism, or changing their language from Hebrew to Aramaic, Yiddish, or modern English—does not sever their connection to the land, then why would the same evolution sever it for Palestinians?
The ancestors of Jews—the Israelites—were one of many Canaanite tribes who developed a distinct monotheistic identity. This was an evolution, not an alien replacement. In precisely the same way, the ancestors of Palestinians—who were Canaanites, Israelites, Samaritans, and others—evolved. They became Christians who spoke Aramaic, and then many became Muslims who spoke Arabic and Christians who spoke Arabic.
To accept one historical evolution while denying the other is not a historical argument; it is a political double standard used to justify a modern colonial project. Indigeneity is about continuous presence, not static, unchanging identity.
You Cannot Erase a People The homes, the olive groves, the food, the art, the language, the churches and mosques, and the genetic data all tell the same, unambiguous story: The Palestinian people are indigenous to the land of Palestine!
They are the descendants of the countless generations who lived on and shaped that land, from the Canaanites of the Bronze Age to the present day. It's not anti-semitic to be human to acknowledge the Palestinian history who are semitic themes! ; it is a fact supported by every relevant field of human knowledge—history, archaeology, linguistics, genetics, and culture.
This reality is recognized by the overwhelming majority of the world. As of 2025, over 140 of the 193 UN member states recognize the State of Palestine. This global consensus acknowledges the simple truth that the Palestinian people exist, have a right to self-determination, and have a history that cannot and will not be erased.
The dispossession of Palestinians in 1948 did not erase their history; it created the latest, most painful chapter of it. Denying their identity is the final step in attempting to justify that dispossession.
But no matter how much some people try to delete the history of the Palestinians the history will stay, it will always exist in the name of the subreddit itself reminding you of everything genocide supporters try to hide.
#But like the ancient olive trees that Zionist burned out of hatred, the Palestinian roots are too deep to be pulled out
