Cat flu broke out at cattery

Advice

Hi everyone,

I'm currently on holiday and I received a call that cat flu has broken out at the cattery where my cat is staying and that they're advising all cats be taken home. They said this is the first time it's ever happened at their facilities. Luckily I have a friend who can take care of her while I'm away. I've been told my cat is fine and that she's displaying not symptoms, which is good. She is also vaccinated.

However, I no have a dilemma. I've been using this cattery for almost 3 years and I've never had any issues before. They send me updates whenever I'm away and she always returns calm and about the same weight, or a bit heavier.

I did a tour of the facilities before I ever sent her there and everything looked good. All owners also have to provide proof of vaccinations, and boosters every year before the cat can board there so I'm not sure how the cat flu broke out. The cattery is one of the top rated in my local area.

Would you use this cattery again or would you look for somewhere else? It's not always feasible for me to get a house sitter.
