Ultrasound Results

Can someone please help me understand these ultrasound results? My doctor’s office said to expect 5-7 days until they get back to me and I’m very anxious.

Context: I have a bump on my armpit that’s been there for a long time (at least a year) and has grown. I found another bump under my chin about a month ago, but can’t say for sure when it got there. Neither hurt. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound. These are my results:

Armpit: FINDINGS: 0.7 x 0.7 x 0.3 cm well-circumscribed subdermal and subcutaneous hypoechoic lesion within the right axilla with increased through transmission and fine internal echogenic debris. No internal vascularity. IMPRESSION: 0.7 cm cystic appearing subdermal/subcutaneous nonvascular lesion within the right axilla which is favored to represent an epidermoid/sebaceous cyst or inflamed lymph node. Consider mammogram recommend clinical and/or ultrasound follow-up.

Neck: FINDINGS: In the area of concern in the midline submandibular region there is a focal structure. In transverse dimension it measures 0.5 cm x 0.3 cm. An superior inferior dimension it measures 1.4 cm. This may represent a lymph node. If indicated, for further assessment a CT scan would be required. IMPRESSION: A nodular structure is seen in the midline submandibular region. This may represent a lymph node as described above.
