Hello, I’d like to ask if anyone has an idea of what this is or advice for managing it. Over the last year I’ve developed this thick skin on my thumb tips and what seems like extra skin growing under the thumb nails/on the nail bed. It seems like if I don’t do anything, the skin there gets very thick and hard. But if I pick at the skin, more sensitive skin underneath is exposed. The skin under my nails is very frustrating. I have to clip these two nails shorter to manage it. If my these two nails grow out much at all, it feels like there’s an abundance of skin under them and I hate how it feels. I also don’t know what the brown area under the skin on my right thumb is. Other fingers are fine, I get dry skin between my fingers, but my dr gave me steroid cream for that and I alternate the cream with regular lotion to manage it. 

I can’t think of what about my daily life could be causing it. I use my pc a lot, but I keep disinfectant wipes nearby to regularly clean my keyboard and mouse, but that has no effect. I try lotion/steroid cream on the skin and nothing happens. Just frustrated with how it feels and unhappy with how my thumbs and nails look. Any help is greatly appreciated.
