Non suppressed egg retrieval

Hey all - new to ivf! My husband and I have very suddenly made the decision to go straight to ivf after miscarriages and low amh/afc. My doctor is starting the process next cycle for the egg retrieval and is NOT doing a suppression cycle, simply jumping in.

Has anyone had this work before? Everything I’ve read about ivf has said the best outcomes for egg retrieval is to suppress ovulation for one cycle.
