My asthmatic rescue cat is afraid of the inhaler

-And I’m very scared during the attacks, that my cat could die, because I can not put the inhaler on her face without her getting scared and running away. Otherwise she does well with the inhaler, I have to give it to her once a day without huge problems. But still, during the attack she is very scared, and I’m worried, because I’m not sure if its okay to give the inhaler right after the attack, or should I be giving it right during them… Could these attacks be fatal? They’re not as bad sounding anymore, as they were before the vet and now that we medicate her.
