am i overreacting wanting to see my bf phone?

i was wondering bc me (19/F) and my bf (18) are taking a break from each other rn. we’re giving each other space basically but if/when we see each other in person i was wondering if i should be able to see my bf phone when i ask for it? like if im simply js asking “can i see ur phone” he would go “no bc thats apart of the space” but in my opinion i should be able to see his phone if im asking to bc when he says no it js makes me suspicious plus if he were to ask for my phone i’d give it to him so i dont see the issue & how thats apart of the space? it js sounds like a way to hide something from me.. plus he also got a new phone so i’ve been wanting to see it & ever since he’s got his new phone he js wouldn’t let me see it. i find that so weird but i may be overreacting so idk.
