Beginner handyman seeking a little advice about offering electrical services.
Sorry if this is not the right sub for this question, if not, please point me to the right place.
So I'm starting up a handyman business and would like to offer minor electrical services. I haven't determined the extent of those services yet. For the most part I'm thinking very basic stuff like installing a ceiling fan or light fixture. It may end up going a little beyond that, I'm still doing research. I am NOT a licensed electrician but I have had plenty of experience doing these tasks over the years and have received instruction/informal training from a family member who is licensed.
In my local area, such tasks are allowed to be performed by a handyman without any electrical licenses or certifications (a lot of homeowners in this area will actually do these types of things themselves. I'm in southern Missouri).
What I'm wondering is if there are any online training courses I should be looking into that aren't a full blown electrical degree, but will make me look just a little bit better than having nothing and might teach me a few things in the process or ideally, expand my capabilities a little.
I had considered just becoming a licensed electrician for the heck of it but thats a pretty big commitment just for the small part of my business that this will be.
Any advice appreciated.
