Flying Blue Rebooking Nightmare — Any Advice
Looking for help or suggestions from anyone with Flying Blue experience because I'm hitting a wall.
I had a reward flight booked through Flying Blue on Air France for December:
DEN → CDG → EDI (Denver to Edinburgh, connecting in Paris). Unfortunately, the flight was canceled — and from what I can tell, all LOT of flights from DEN to Europe in the winter have been canceled.
The rebooking Flying Blue gave me is wild:
DEN → JFK → CDG → EDI, with a 9-hour layover in Paris, arriving in Edinburgh 12 hours later than originally scheduled.
The problem is, we were only going to be in Edinburgh for 2 days — so this change makes it barely worth it. We're thinking of just skipping Edinburgh and going straight to London (later in our trip), but I hate to lose that time and money.
I’ve contacted Flying Blue support through literally every possible channel (WhatsApp, Facebook, their chat, and phone — easily spoken to 8+ repressentatives), and every single one says they can’t rebook me on anything else. I suggested a Delta flight (that shows on KLM’s site) that goes DEN → JFK → EDI, arriving nearly the same time as my original itinerary — but they claim they can only rebook flights that are currently available to purchase with miles.
The kicker? I can't find a single flight from DEN to Europe available with miles until APRIL 2026. It's absurd.
I also asked if they could fly me out of Boston instead (I’d get myself there), and they said no — the departure airport must be within 300 miles of the original booking.
I’m super frustrated. I didn’t ask for my flight to be canceled, and the current option is making my trip worse by a mile. A refund of points isn't great either since cash prices are now insane. I feel like I’m trapped with a garbage rebooking and no flexibility.
Has anyone dealt with something like this? Any magic words or alternate routes I haven’t thought of? I'd appreciate any advice!
