Starlink help for Switch?

To start, please ELI5 for internet stuff, I am very tech illiterate 😭

Hello! About a week ago I started a contract in rural Missouri that’ll last for the next few months. The housing this contractor provides is in the middle of the woods, and the WiFi they had previously set up stopped working for whatever reason, so recently they set up a Starlink for the apartments.

Unfortunately this internet is absolutely terrible - oftentimes it just stops working for minutes at a time, and when it DOES work it’s incredibly slow. The contractor has refused to do anything more about the WiFi.

Is there anything I can do or buy to help improve the internet, period? I mostly ask because I’d really like to play Online with my Switch games, but the Switch straight up won’t connect to the Starlink wifi. Would Ethernet even work in a case like this? I’m at a loss and after the long hours of the day I’d enjoy nothing more than playing some Smash or Splatoon or whatever.
