First time buyer questions

Been lurking for a long time. Finally committed to some plates and bags.

Are there any do's and dont's for a carrier? Things to avoid, qol improvements, kit to avoid?

4S16's, Arc Carrier, AXL Equinox and Shoulder Pads.

Thanks!
