John's phone was moved at 12:33:14 am
Alessi tried to get into this when cross examining both Burgess and Welcher, but Brennan objected at the mention of pocket state and Bev sustained. At the time I didn't think much of it, it wasn't clear to me that this pocket state record indicated manipulation.
Ian Whiffin's testimony is important for understanding how the iPhone's doppler feature works. According to Whiffin, the camera will activate and check if its obstructed if the phone receives a call OR if the phone is "picked up in a particular way".
Looking at the pocket state records we can see that one is created at 12:33:14. Initially I thought this was when John received a call from Karen, but I was incorrect, she doesn't call until 12:33:35. This means someone moved John's phone well after the alleged collision.
What is also interesting is that a record is created at 6:02:41. This is right before Karen, Kerry, and McCabe arrive. We know this because Karen calls John at 6:03:02, which results a voicemail that records the 911 call. Someone moved the phone before they even got there.
