Key Cycle Problems and why it easily could be off.
Something that has really bothered me is the CW use of the key cycles, working backwards, and thus trying to place the reversing event in front of 34 Fairview.
Burges testified that just pressing the Start button (not even fully starting the car) registers as a Key Cycle.
Also note that there is no time stamps on the key cycles.
I think the Key Cycles could easily could be wrong/off:
-
When Karen got home to 1 Meadows we know she connected to the WiFI at 12:36am.
-
There is a voicemail on John’s phone that captures the sound of the beeps of her pulling in to the garage and her heels walking into the house at 12:41am.
-
There are several missed calls to John that Karen made between 12:36-12:41am. This means she was sitting in her car, before pulling into the garage, and she kept calling John.
-
In her intoxicated state, how do we know she didn’t accidentally hit the start button and turn off the car and turn it on again to go into the garage?
-
Or same thing when she wakes up at 5am in a panick and goes out looking for John. That she didn’t accidentally turn on/off the car again.
-
I say this because I have done this many times sitting in my driveway doing something and out of muscle memory hit the button to turn off or on the car and it’s already on or off. And this is clear minded and not sober, but distracted because I looking something up on my phone or whatnot and reached over. Forget Karen being intoxicated and focused on calling John or going out looking for John in a panic.

**If she pushed the button accidentally even once, then it puts the reverse event when she would have been leaving the Waterfall parking lot/street area ** and NOT in front of 34 Fairview.
