Eyeliner and Eyelash Curling Help

Hello! Over the last few years I’ve tried so many different brands of pencil eyeliner, from kohl to gel and all the variations in between. With every kind I’ve used, when I go to curl my lashes after applying eyeliner, a portion of the liner comes off my lid and gets on the curler. Even the ones that last 36+ hours come off in spots, despite allowing “dry time” between application and curling. It’s least noticeable with kohl pencils, but those give a much softer and less distinct line on my lid than gel and other kinds. Am I the only person who has this issue? If anyone has advice or recommendations on technique or products I would greatly appreciate them!
