Crossplay chat

Last night was playing with a new friend. They were on Xbox and I was on Playstation. They could hear me fine but I could not hear them.

Both made sure no one was muted. Checked crossplay chat was on. Tried creating a chat lobby. Nothing solved the issue.

Anyone know what the issue may be? Settings may need to check? Not sure what is going on with this. Thanks
