Dog ran away

Hey so my dog ran away about a week ago, and we've reached out to neighbours, posted him on our social groups, looked around everywhere for him But it has been a week and it's awful The theory at first is that he left in search of a dog in heat. But I'm really not sure For context we live in a very open area in southeast Africa (like village next to a city sort of thing), so dogs roam freely around the village area But Remy never does this he always stays home and he's always been with us, he never goes far and he's about 2years old. We do have a new dog a stray who's been with us for maybe about a year and sometimes they have little fights but nothing serious, Remy always comes to the house when he's upset or scared of the new guy. And they were on Good terms the morning he left. I just feel really sad, and idk what to do, is there a chance he's sneaking off because of hormonal instinct??? I just don't see how he'd do this and if he'd get fed. We've driven around and walked around and no sign of him Just have no idea what to do and I'm so worried and I've just about given up hope of him returning home He's really loved at home and has all the freedom but unlike the others prefers to stay home, he is great friends with our other dog Diasy, so I'm just very confused as to why he'd run off.
