Idk what’s wrong with my cat

Usually my cat adores sleeping by me and on my bed. He’s always on the bed when I come home from work and gets comfy and makes biscuits. But all of a sudden today, he’s very jumpy on the bed and keeps his distance from it. When he’s by the bed he moves very slowly and cautiously and is sniffing all over the place. Is this typical behavior? What’s going on with him?
