Do you ever think about joining the FLDS or Catholic religion or finding a partner in these religions because they value breeding?
I 25F was raised catholic. I received my baptism, first communion and first confession which are important rights of passage in the religion. However I was never confirmed, which is the final sacrament that finalizes you as a practicing official catholic, because my family and I transitioned to a evangelical church with a better youth group around that time. It's hard for me because I am bisexual and enjoy doing spells and tarot readings and those things are looked down on by a lot of traditional religious folks. I also have severe sexual trauma and I am a pretty sex positive person (as long as it's adult, enthusiastically consensual, safe and sane that is, so only to a point).... so that's not very conservative or traditionally religious.
However, one thing that is controversial that the catholic church grew up teaching is that birth control should never be used. And that sex should occur between a married man and a woman, making as many of God's creations as possible. And I know there's other religious organizations that also believe in breeding and big families, I can't help but feel most aligned with these people. I like the idea of guiding principles and I myself love the commitment and selflessness in creating a big, loyal family. And I'd want a partner that would do the same.
That's why I do go to church and bible studies. I mean I am genuinely spiritual anyways. But it is kind of refreshing to be around people more likely to value the idea of a big family nowadays ya know? Anyone else feel this tho?
