Manager criticized me harshly after I tried my best – I’m neurodivergent and feel completely unsupported

I’ve been working at my job for about 2 months and recently did one of my first few closing shifts (only had about 3–4 of them and was talked through it just once). I did my best and thought I handled it decently given how new I still am, but today my manager pulled me aside and told me the way I closed was “absolutely unacceptable.”

She showed me photos of things that apparently weren’t up to standard, but I had never been shown a clear checklist or trained properly. What hurt most is how she spoke to me — she said things like, “I don’t want this to turn into you thinking everyone’s shouting at you,” and when I replied calmly that I don’t think that, she cut me off and said, “Yes, but that’s what it will turn into.” I felt completely belittled and shut down.

I’m autistic and have ADHD — my manager knows this — The thing is she says shes doesnt ever want me to feel overwhelmed or confused but thats exactly how I feel It feels like I’m being set up to fail, and now I’m dreading going back tomorrow even though I need the money. I really want to quit but can’t afford to yet.

Ive been through countless jobs and every single time its a problem with the management and Im starting to feel like Its a me issue?

Just needed to get this off my chest. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle it?
