Interested in building premium kit

I’m new to the drum world and would like to convert an acoustic kit to electric. Could you guys give me some suggestions for what are considered the best in each category?

Cymbals, triggers, etc

I feel like I could build my own kit that is better than the VAD 716 for significantly less money.
