Can I use 20 inch side mounted slides on a 24 inch drawer?

As the title says. I want to make a 24 or 25 inch long drawer but already have a bunch of aide mount euro slides which are 20 inches. Can I do this? Also how would you reccoi mount it? Closer the front or back of the drawer?
