Expedited shipping

I got a request on one of my listings that I offer a quicker shipping service so the buyer can be sure to have it (boots) by next Friday. I’m happy to do that as long as they pay the up charge. But when I look at the 2 - 3 day options they give me a range of prices. Like $17.91 to $93.54 for UPS 3 day select.

Is there a way to confirm the shipping charge to his address before he gets committed to paying $90 shipping on $50.00 boots? He’s about 10 hours away by car, so it should be towards the lower end of the range, but who knows.

I was thinking of revising the listing with the faster shipping and then having him make me an offer that I would reject if that shipping service was grossly expensive. That’s to protect him, plus I don’t need an extra $10 in transaction fees.

I’ve bought and sold on eBay but I haven’t encountered this. Is there an easier way.
