Update: AITA for disowning my family except for my brother
Just an update from my last nights post: Turns out my younger sister and my older sister teamed up together. Just a quick insight my older sister is already married and has a 3 year old son. Personally I have held a long grudge on my older sister after she did the same stunt my younger sister did these past few wks. The story she gave out was different than my younger sister though. A bit of flashback towards my relationship with my older sister. She left home and never looked back after she graduated college. She ran away with a married man who even gave her an STD at one point in her life. She was my dad's favorite and what she did turned his world upside down. She even accused our father of rape. My dad had a strict hand and often beat us but never the rape part. I know my family's messed up. But like any other family we used to be a happy one but that was before she ran away from home. She just came back to us 4 years ago where my parents accepted her back wholeheartedly. How you ask? Well she is the favorite so you get the picture. She told my parents I was an alcoholic and a drunk and that she was just "concerned". I don't even know why she was suddenly "concerned" about my wellbeing when we haven't even talked to each other for years. Mind you she even tried asking for money from my ex boyfriend on multiple occasions. I hated her I wont deny that but I didn't hate her to the point that I wished bad on her. I just simply pretended she wasn't there even when she visited. During the pandemic I got lockdowned in the city and alongside continuing my studies for my first degree I started working online too to support myself during those times since my parents had no way to send me money since everything and everyone was on lockdown so I had to freestyle my way out of the pandemic, support myself, and still study. All of the savings I managed to save from that work went down the drain when she got sick and had surgery. My parents still hated her at that point so she reached out to me for help and I did despite hating her. I know I was stupid. I managed to save almost 200k at that time with the online work I did for a year but it got drained easily since she got hospitalized and she picked the private one since the public hospitals according to her gave her the "ick". Perks of being the spoiled child. She even picked a private room without telling me. Up to this date she never paid me back. I also had to pay for my mother's bail when she got caught in place of my dad, I wont specify what caused her jailtime but for the context she didn't want to go to jail so I had to bribe the cops that caught her so that she can get free without any record of being caught. (I live in the Philippines btw, private hospitals and bribary here dont come cheap) My savings got drained and I never complained even when they didn't pay me back. Whats worst was when my older sister got out of the hospital she even posted on social media a message of thanks, not towards me but towards her so called friends. Both my sisters are obsessed with social media and practically starts their sentences with "I". They like to praise themselves. I never told anyone about this btw. Just here on this reddit app. I never fully understood how my parents were that stingy with money when we weren't exactly poor. They just dont like spending it on me or my brother. We're practically beggars here asking them to pay for our education or maids basically. Anyways, after she told my parents that I got beaten up pretty badly by my dad which made my cyst burst. I have PCOS. I had to take myself to the hospital and pay for my own hospitalization bills too. Not because they didn't know its just that they didn't really cared that much. My brother was the only one who was there for me and took care of me at that time. I don't exactly know why they hated me or my brother that much but I think its just because they see me and my brother as a competition. Im not exactly a very smart person and I do what I have to do to survive. My brother also does the same thing. I have my own criticism towards my sisters but I dont share it to anyone due to the fact that I respect them as my own flesh and blood. Too bad they're working really hard to make me look bad in front of my parents. My parents usually holds me in high regard since I can manage myself well but thats about it. They boast about my achievements and the fact that I'm a future doctor but thats basically about it. They are even holding a party for my younger sisters graduation on the 29th, the same day as her birthday. My diploma for my first degree on the other hand I never brought it home anymore after I found it gathering dust in the store room since according to my mom "its not the degree she wants hanging on their wall of fame" and oh on my birthday last April 3? I didn't even get a cake no happy birthdays from my own family either. In fact on that day I was doing my family's laundry. I can tell you guys more about what I went through and what I got through everyday but I think if I tell more I would look like a hypocrite when in fact Im hust starting to feel sorry for myself and most importantly, I feel sorry for my brother. He's being treated the same way they have been treating me all these years. Tell me if you want to know more about my brother's story. This app seems to help me understand that making this decision was the best decision U can ever give myself. It helps me feel better too, venting out like this, anonymously. I'm receiving more love here than I ever did in my daily life. Thank you for that.
