I have a 18x52 ultra intex - about 7,000 gallons. It’s been up for about 2 months and has been a breeze adding liquid chlorine every other night. I have shocked it maybe 3 times in that time frame. It’s been clear and test strips were always in range (I just bought a Taylor kit, don’t yell at me)

Last weekend I noticed “yellow shawdows” around the edge of my pool bottom. When you kick it it turns to dust. I shocked it and ran my robot vacuum not knowing if it was algae or pollen- hoping for the best. Well it was good all week until lastnight, I noticed cloudiness and the algae (I assume) is back. I added 2x the normal amount of chlorine. Got up this morning, pool is cloudy and algae is still there.

I just bought a Taylor testing kit, Yellow Out, and got my water tested at Leslie’s just for fun - I attached the results.

I live in Virgina where it has been rainy and overcast for WEEKS, when the sun is out though it is HOT, blazing sunshine and humid.

My back yard does have trees and pollen, leaves and sticks in often end up in the pool after rain and storms, which has been abnormally ALOT so far this year.

The pool store said “everything actually doesn’t look that bad, start with adjusting the alkalinity and go from there” but if we’re reading the same paper… most of it looks bad to me (again, 1st year pool owner)

Sorry for being long winded but trying to make sure I hit all the boxes. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT TO DO!
