Dear C.

I’m leaving the state Monday and am letting you go.

I wish you the best and I hope you find whatever you’d decided I couldn’t give you. I hope you ditch your friend, the one that immediately made passes at me after you dumped me. I tried to tell you. He’s not a good person.

I hope your family is well, despite what they thought of me. I genuinely hope they love the next one. I hope it clicks. If not, I hope you choose love instead.

I’ll always love you, or have love for the person I knew. That doesn’t change or go away. But I had to move on. It took a long, long time to realize finally that there is no future in which the past can be changed. Silly, right? You’d think I’d know that. I won’t get closure. I’ll never know why. That’s my closure.

Most of all I hope you don’t regret it and I hope you don’t miss me. It’d be too late and would save you a lot of pain.

All the best.
