I feel heartbroken

2 days ago before summer break, I planed to confess to my crush, and he turned out to like My Friend. she didn't like him back, I didn't confesss to him when I found out he liked my friend. A day after that it was the last day of school and he confessed to me. I felt like I'm just a second option to him. So I refused since I knew who he truly liked and it would be a matter of time until my friend wound like him too and want to date, and I'd be heartbroken and hurt. (I'm still heartbroken that he likes my friend) I never told my friend abt my crush. It feels like each time I have a crush, they always likes the other girl I know, it feels like "they're the prettier twin" I might just give up on love tbh.
