My new Dragonborn druid back story TW:spouse death

Zaun has lived in (town) for years. He has had adventures previously and specifically would adventure to places that could contain ancient magical knowledge, but time after time he failed to find the appropriate magics that could save his husband Aput from a magical illness. Unfortunately, he was unable to afford the treatment, and when Aput was going to pass, Zaun was notified that he failed to reach the clinic in time because of the Phoenix bandit group, which blocked the streets. Aput died alone. Zaun blames himself for not being able to save Aput from his fate and blames the Phoenix bandits for stopping him from visiting his husband in his final moments.
