This was just a quick puzzle; originally thrifted. When I got it out I finally SAW this weird line that runs from the fawn's muzzle down and to the right. I figured something must have happened in printing the box. Nope; it's on the puzzle! There is an artist named (Bridget Voth) because my absolute first impulse is to blame AI and poor QA. But maybe just terrible QA? How does somebody miss that?

Last photo is an elk calf! After attending a "community event" today I went for a drive on a fairly isolated forest service road. My car is a hybrid so often runs electric when I'm going slow out there which means it's quiet. I've managed to surprise bears, cougars, deer, raccoons, possums, and today....an elk with her VERY new calf. They were crossing the road as I came around a corner and mom could scramble up the embankment, but the calf couldn't keep up and just dropped into the grass. It's not a great photo, but I wasn't going to get any closer because I wanted to drive off and let mom collect her baby. Which she did...I checked the spot on my drive out. For some reason, I hadn't realized until today that elk calves are spotted just like fawns when very young.

Bits and Pieces, Little Friends in the Forest, 300 (what is this bizarro line from the fawn's muzzle?!) Bonus pic of real live friend in the forest 😊
