I'm sharing this because I thought you'd find it amusing, but if anyone has some advice I'd appreciate it. For right now I'm NC with my sister who has be blocked on everything, and I'm LC with my mom. I'm sharing this now because my sister has been attempting to paint me as a bad guy by texting my friends and today has sent emotionally manipulative texts to my children, who now have her blocked. My mom has refused to get involved in any way.

For background, when my mom got sick about 15 years ago and could no longer work my wife and I paid about 10% of her bills for years until she could go on full disability. That's the "help" referenced. We have also paid a lot of money to my sister when she first separated from her husband and then finally divorced him as well as paying for a lot of her things over the years, didn't keep track of any of these expenses because my wife and I don't believe in keeping a tally of the money we lend friends and family.

They both decided separately, and for different reasons, that they didn't want to come up for holidays, which frankly made the annual argument with my wife about where we should go a LOT easier. This is why we referenced coming down for the one kids birthday as it's between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

As to the phone calls my mom actively stopped taking my calls around the time my sister was separating from her husband in December 2021. She wasn't supporting my sister and she didn't like me calling her out for that. She finally resumed contact a few years later, but only to participate in a public event I was headlining.

There's a LOT more, but right now I'm no contact (NC) with my sister and VLC with my mom. I did write a letter to my sister after this event if you'd like to see that.

Family guilting me after ignoring me
