I think I got completely lost between people pleasing and setting boundaries.

Self-Transformation 🔄

I have spent most of my life trying to be nice and not upset anyone - which means people pleasing. Since a few years ago I found myself so drained from always being for everyone, that I started to learn and practice setting boundaries, activate my anger and start protecting myself, stop being nice, and start being real. I do think that I am much better now. I am not all drown in other people, I am not manipulating by pleasing and giving everyone what they want. But I do get many conflict situations now. People getting angry at me for not being what they want me to be and for not being that sweet nice always giving person. Besides that it’s getting harder to build working relationships because I sense disrespect and boundaries violation faster and my tolerance is very low. So it seems like I am getting more problems that benefits (other than my own mental wellbeing).

I would like to know what you guys do about that? Is it about balance: a bit pleasing, a bit boundaries? Or do I just need to get used to having conflicts since I am not always nice? Maybe it’s normal and I just never experienced that?
