Stadium Ranks don't matter?

I've been playing a ton of stadium, and I've noticed that some games, my teammates are the worst players in the entire game even though I'm at pro rank. Then I check their profile and they are rookie or contender while the enemy tank is all star. What is causing these terrible matches? Is stadium mmr even a thing? Has anyone else been experiencing this?
