Had the laser surgery today.
Hello, everyone.
I don't know all the terms used in this subreddit, nor is English my first language, so please excuse any potential mishaps in terms of the lingo.
I just felt like it would be interesting to share my experience.
I (22, M) got diagnosed with this condition in 2018, at 15 years old. Back then, it only bothered me when I sat on it for long. Until around december last year, I hadn't ever had an abscess or a big inflammation. Only mild pain, so I thought surgery wasn't worth it and just carried on.
That is, until it finally happened. I could barely sleep for three days straight when it happened, and it was such a relief when it finally "exploded". So, in order not to have to endure this hellish ordeal again, I decided to look for a doctor. At first, I planned to do the original surgery (not sure how it's called), but I found out about this 360° laser diode option, and found that, apart from not leaving much in terms of scarring, the post op is way easier. So I booked the surgery for yesterday morning (06/14, it's already past midnight here).
My experience: I barely felt a pinch during the anaesthetics (local), and felt only pressure afterwards. The whole procedure lasted for about 30 minutes, and I left the clinic walking normally. It's been about 12 or 13 hours since the surgery, and I hardly feel any pain at all, even if I press against the bandages, I barely feel a thing. I've sat for a few hours to play games on my PC and also did not feel any discomfort.
I'm not sure my input will have much value here, but yeah, so far, it has been great.
Tl;dr: laser surgery is fucking awesome.
