Male 48, question about xanax

Hey all. I'm a male, 48 years old. I'm 6'7" and weigh about 250 lbs. Not on any daily medication, non smoker, occasional drinker (once a month or so). Moderately active as far as exercise, weights twice a week and walks/hikes almost every day.

On to my question.

I took half of a .25 mg (so .125m) xanax about 12 hours ago. As I'm a big guy, the effects were fairly mild. Only lasted an hour or two. I know, however, that the half life of the drug indicates that it is still in my system.

I was asked by a friend if I'd like to have a beer with him in an hour or two. I know xanax and alcohol is a potentially dangerous combination, but given the low dose and the time that has passed would I be safe having a pint? I'm not talking binge drinking until 2am, just a pint of some mid strength beer.

I'd like to go, but I'd also like to be safe. What do you all think?
