can we talk about the AI regulation ban in the OBBBA?

i haven’t seen anyone talk about this at all, but in the One Big Beautiful Act, there is a section about there being a 10 year ban on AI regulations. this worries me greatly not just as an artist but as a working class citizen. i’ve heard a lot of people say ai will take over jobs (realistically i can’t say how reliable their claims are because i don’t think the economy would thrive, but i could be very wrong) and it worries me greatly. not to mention the toll it has on the environment.

i want to know your guys’ thoughts on this because i haven’t see anyone talk about it. i’ve only seen doomers on other subreddits say we’re doomed in terms of ai, and i haven’t been able to get any optimistic opinions on this aside from close friends.

i know there aren’t always positive/optimistic spins to things, so maybe this is one of them. i am somewhat optimistic that we will be okay for the next few decades but i’d like to hear your views :)
