korea train system — only two trains both going on way?

stayed in mungyeong-si and after getting lost quite a few times on train finally made it closer to the big cities such as gangnam, is there only two trains/ routes at each station or is it only the stations i went to? trying to retake my korea trip and want some clarity on it.
