Advice r/t bad vibes with an aesthetician

Recommendation

I am 40, but fair skinned and I look quite a bit older than my age with deep under eye wrinkles from cyclical under eye swelling/deflating which has stretched out the skin. I've had a board certified plastic surgeon in the US recommend CO2 laser for my skin concerns.

I recently booked a consultation + FRAXIS CO2 laser treatment with an RN aesthetician who was recommended by a coworker (not the same clinic as the plastic surgeon as I have since moved).

During the consultation we spoke about after care, recovery time etc etc., however, I did not realize until I got home and looked at my aftercare instructions that she had performed Fraxel laser, not Fraxis CO2 which is what I wanted. We never really referred to the laser by name in the consultation, I just assumed we were talking about the treatment I had booked. I called the clinic to ask exactly which laser was used since there are so many diff brands/types etc, and it was the Fraxel Dual 1550/1927. I explained that I had booked the Fraxis CO2 laser, not Fraxel, and I wasn't sure where the miscommunication ocurred. They tried to put me in touch with the aesthetician but we couldn't connect over the phone for a scheduled call during the day because of my work schedule. I had purchased 3 treatments, so figured whatever-I'll just get the CO2 for the remaining 2 treatments.

7 weeks later I had tox with the same aesthecian, and told her I wanted to do the CO2 laser for the next round. She had a lot of reasons why she didn't want to use that laser "You can't go over the area more than once, once you treat the skin you are done whereas with fraxel I can go back and forth, and you can't tailor Co2 to sensitive areas so it could damage the skin, it hurts way worse and it takes 2 hours whereas fraxel only takes 20 min and you're done!" She also basically said that they are the same laser/do the same thing/said Fraxel is also a CO2 laser, but that isn't what I'm reading online.

I asked if I needed to wait a few weeks after tox for the laser, she said no you can do it right away. Yet everything I've read online says to wait 2 weeks to avoid weakening the tox and wasting your money.

At my 2nd laser appt. I again said I really just want the CO2 laser, not Fraxel. She seemed irritated, said my skin issues do not warrant the CO2 laser-it is too strong, it is way more expensive (it's not-their site lists it for the exact same price as Fraxel) it takes way longer (pretty sure this is why she didn't want to do it in the first place...it is not convenient for her) and then went on to tell me I look worse than I did before ever having the first laser because I don't take care of my skin and I am not hydrating well blah blah blah. And told me again I need fillers even though I've repeatedly said I don't want them.

I have absolutely no idea why I proceeded with the Fraxel laser treatment that I didn't want to begin with from an aesthetician I now have very little trust in... especially after she told me the freaking laser has made me look worse (probably because of the pre-med anti-anxiety pill I had on board + the fact that I already paid $2600). Also my tox is weak AF with barely reduced movement and she kept saying she was doing "mosquito bite" injections not all the way into the muscle during the appt. for a subtle effect.

Does any of this sound normal? I guess I'm just wondering if she's right, that a CO2 laser is way too extreme and I should trust her consultation recommendations/stop being so skeptical? Or is it appropriate to ask the clinic for a refund of the third treatment so I can go elsewhere and get the freaking CO2 treatment which is the only reason I ever went to that clinic in the first place? I'm mainly frustrated I don't stick up for myself in the moment and call people on thier bullshit when my gut is telling me something is off.
