Cross-GCC relationship advice? (Saudi-Bahraini)

Hi everyone, I’m a Saudi girl, and I’ve recently developed feelings for a Bahraini guy. He seems to feel the same way, and although we haven’t had a direct conversation about it, he’s given me a lot of hints that show mutual interest.

I’ve started thinking seriously about the future, and I want to understand what I might be getting into if things go further. I know cross-GCC marriages happen, but I also want to know if there are any challenges—legal, cultural, or family-related—that I should be aware of.

If any of you are in a similar situation (especially Bahraini-Saudi couples), I would really appreciate hearing your honest experiences. What are the pros and cons? Was it worth it? Is the process complicated?

I’m not trying to rush into anything, but I want to be realistic early on. If it’s too difficult or risky, I’d rather step back now before getting more emotionally involved.
